<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /><a href="http://www.oikonet.org/">OIKONET </a>is a European project co-funded by the Executive Agency of Education, Audiovisual and Culture (EACEA), with the purpose of studying contemporary housing from a multidisciplinary and global perspective by encompassing the multiple dimensions which condition the forms of dwelling in today’s societies: architectural, urban, environmental, economic, cultural and social.<br /><br />The program is structured in three sessions: </span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit;"><b>1. Conceptualizing contemporary housing research</b></span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit;"><b>2. Rethinking housing design learning and teaching and</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><span style="color: #3d85c6;">3. Shaping the habitat with community participation. The program will close with a round table discussion about the topic global dwelling.</span></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="color: #3d85c6;"><b><br /></b></span>The purpose of the conference is to explore the global condition of contemporary housing as manifested in the demands for citizen participation in shaping the habitat, housing as a driver of urban regeneration, housing adaptability to new social and family structures, housing policies to provide affordable housing, and sustainability and energy efficiency of housing buildings, among others.
